Blupura is proud to announce a new and significant initiative in support of the environment and local communities through a partnership with Treedom. Over the next two years, Blupura will plant a total of 2,000 trees, divided into 1,000 trees in 2024 and another 1,000 in 2025, thus creating the Blupura Greenwood.
“At Blupura, we have always been focused on sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions with our water dispensers, but we decided to do more for our planet! For the first time, we will create the Blupura Greenwood by planting 2,000 trees, while also supporting local economies across the globe. A new initiative, a new commitment to society,” stated Gianni Grottini, founder and managing director of the company.
Environmental impact
Throughout their lifetime, the trees in the Blupura Greenwood will absorb approximately 316 tons of CO₂ per year. This remarkable impact is the result of a model that uses various data inputs, such as the size, composition, and lifecycle of the trees, to accurately estimate the carbon absorbed in the first 10 years of life. Each tree planted will absorb CO₂, thus helping to combat soil erosion, enrich biodiversity, and create sustainable ecosystems.
Social benefits
The trees we plant will not only contribute to reducing CO₂ in the atmosphere but will also bring tangible benefits to local communities. Our trees will be planted in Colombia, Ghana, Guatemala, Kenya, and Madagascar, and each tree will have its own online page, geolocated and photographed, where the story of the project can be followed. Through financing, training, and technical assistance, we help communities gain direct benefits from the trees in terms of food resources and economic opportunities.
